Dublin City Council, in cooperation with IPA, has organised a conference at the Croke Park Conference Centre on 17th September 2007, to bring together a wide range of stakeholders engaged in efforts to build sustainable urban communities. Architects; surveyors; developers; planners; community and residents groups; local and national policy makers will consider the key drivers of urban sprawl and put forward responses to the pertinent questions such as:
Is the coordination between the various authorities and agencies involved at different levels effective enough to ensure that ‘joined-up’ policy visions are carried through?
What can be done to make the development of apartments more suitable and attractive to families?
Can the industry respond to the expectations of policy makers and buyers?
What can we learn from international best practice?
