White Star wins Commercial Architecture Award

000258

White Star House, Queens Island, Belfast by architects Scott Wilson, incorporating Ferguson McIlveen, has won an award in the inaugural Commercial Architecture Awards. The Commercial Architecture Awards celebrate the very best recent work in the UK commercial sector. These new awards aim to seek out high quality schemes: offices, housing, hotels, retail, leisure, mixed-use projects and commercial interiors. Schemes that have managed to achieve the balance between meeting a client’s commercial objectives, while producing the best quality architecture and interior design.

“This bold and straightforward office building suits its location, beside Thompson Dock, in the vast new waterfront urban regeneration project, Titanic Quarter. Its references to the ship building industry and White Star Shipping Line’s history are appropriately understated; yet give a building that has a strong and relevant identity. Combined with this, its excellent sustainability credential make it a worth winner.”
