HKR Architects sees big jump in profits

The directors of HKR Architects, one of the biggest architectural practices in the country, are ‘‘cautiously optimistic’’ about the future, after it recorded rises in turnover and profits. HKR made a pre-tax profit of €6.4 million for the year to the end of January 2007, up by 68 per cent on the previous year’s figure of €3.8million,according to accounts filed last week at the Companies Registration Office. Turnover rose from €19.7 million to €26.5 million, an increase of 34 per cent, as the company moved into a number of new markets. “Turnover has grown strongly during the year and the company has successfully widened its client base. The group has expanded its operations in the UK, USA and eastern Europe during the year,” according to the directors’ report accompanying the accounts.
