INTBAU Irish Chapter launched in Belfast

The international network of INTBAU (International Network for Traditional Building, Architecture and Urbanism) has been boosted with a new chapter in Ireland. INTBAU Ireland was officially launched at the end of October 2008 during the opening of an exhibition on classical architecture, hosted in the Dome of the Victoria Square shopping centre of Belfast.

The main goal of the new chapter will be encourage harmonious new developments which integrate within the surrounding built and natural environments. It is widely recognised that the most satisfying new designs are those which truly respect local distinctiveness and character. INTBAU Ireland will serve to encourage and celebrate the rich and architectural traditions that contribute to the creation of our beautiful places.

INTBAU Ireland produced an exhibition of classical designs from different parts of the world, including Ireland. The exhibition will remain in Belfast for one week and later this year will be shown in Dublin.
