From The Architect, August 14, 1875: This residence is being built for Mr. F. Bird, at the corner of Gauden Road and Bromfelde Road, on an estate recently opened for building, near the Clapham Railway Station. The fronts are faced with best picked stock bricks with red bricks in arches, bands, &c., red Dumfries and Bath stone being used for dressings. The contact is taken by Mr. F. Johnson, of Lynton Road, Bermondsey, for 820/. exclusive of iron railing on front walls. Mr. J.W. Brooker, of 2 Railway Approach, London Bridge, is the architect
