1879 – Detached Villas, Bedford Park Estate, Turnham Green, London

Architect: Richard Norman Shaw

0051

The earliest garden suburb, its buildings including churches, houses, shops and pubs, were designed by the leading architects of the time. Writers, artists, actors and lawyers enjoyed an equally unique social scene. Shaw’s first designs for Bedford Park were produced in 1877, and were built next to Godwin’s houses at the bottom of The Avenue.
