The tower is a large slab resting on inverted triangular piers, which separate it from the wide base. The Chestnut Street lobby has a flamboyant art deco design with elaborate brass grillework. An I. Magnin Department store used to occupy the retail area of the base, which extends east on Pearson Street. Today this space is subdivided among several large stores.
