2002 – Largy College, Clones, Co. Monaghan

Architect: Anthony Reddy Associates

Modern secondary school with a rather more striking appearance than is usually normal with projects where budgets are king. Produced as part of a Public/Private Partnership Bundled Schools Initiative, it is a “C” shaped building located on the south side of the site, adjacent to Analore Road, allowing space for sports fields and hard courts to the north.

The building form creates a sheltered courtyard with a close friendly feel and provides an external space for pupils and staff. The building form also accommodates future expansion with new areas completing the courtyard. The classroom and teaching facilities are located on the south and east wings in a two storey building, whilst the educational spaces requiring greater headroom and volume are located in the single storey north wing.
