“EVERYDAY ARCHITECTURE Mayo” exhibition to open in Westport

ireland-westportartsfestival

As part of this year’s Westport Arts Festival 2009, an outdoor exhibition “EVERYDAY ARCHITECTURE Mayo” will run on The Mall, Westport, from October 2nd-11th with Public Walkabout and talk with the exhibitors on Sunday October 11th at 4pm.

Everyday Architecture is an exhibition of projects in Mayo made by architects.  The exhibition considers how everyone’s everyday experience can be improved through good design; be it in a house, a shopfront, a piece of furniture, a moment of life framed in a view, a detail, or how daylight enters a room. Each exhibited project consists of a large photograph accompanied by a drawing and a statement from the project’s user or client about its value: be it spiritual; financial; societal; accessible; usable.

The exhibition will form an outdoor installation along Westport’s Mall from October 2nd to October 11th concluding with a Public Walkabout and talk with the exhibitors on Sunday October 11th at 4pm at which ALL ARE WELCOME to come, enjoy and contribute to a lively discussion about EVERYDAY ARCHITECTURE.

The exhibition is kindly supported by the RIAI and ECOCEM. For information visit www.westportartsfestival.com
