Next Stop Design

Next Stop Design is a bus stop design contest in cooperation with the Utah Transit Authority and funded by the U.S. Federal Transit Administration. The project is the basis for a larger research study being conducted by researchers at the University of Utah to test public participation online for democratic decision making.

You can register for free on the site, submit your bus stop designs, and vote on the designs of your peers. Designs with 25 or more votes by September 25, 2009, are eligible – so encourage your friends to vote for your submission. Top rated eligible designs will be considered for actual construction as a bus stop in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.

Winning designs will be publicly recognized, as well as recognized on a plaque to be affixed to the eventual built bus stop. It’s a great contest to enter if you’re an aspiring or established architect or designer hoping to build your portfolio…or if you just have some ideas you’d like to put forward. Professionals, amateurs, students, individuals, and firms all welcome to compete. Multiple design submissions allowed.
