Profits increase by 7pc at Scott Tallon Walker

Architectural firm Scott Tallon Walker posted an operating profit of €6.7m last year, a 7pc increase on 2007.

The firm, which has designed the buildings for the RTE site’s planned €350m overhaul, also paid its directors dividends of €3.5m last year, down from nearly €5.5m the previous year, according to accounts.

The business employs roughly 150 people and is one of the largest architectural practices in the country. The directors received total remuneration of just over €2m last year, up from €1.84m in 2007. Other staff were paid total wages and salaries of almost €9.7m last year, an average of €62,100 each.

Turnover at the firm rose to €21.7m in 2008 from €19.2m the previous year.
