Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin is a £4million, purpose-built Irish language, cultural and enterprise centre based in the Walled City’s historic Great James Street area. Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin includes a 200 seat theatre (An Croi); multi-purpose arts centre; conference centre; classrooms; youth club; a 1,655 sq ft business incubation suite, housing three units; café, craft centre and Irish language book shop. All facilities are open to both Irish and English speakers. An impressive adddition to the city’s skyline, it has already become a beacon for language and culture enthusiasts, and will greatly enhance access to services and facilities for the city’s Irish speaking community. It will act as a hub for a variety of different cultural and arts organisations throughout the Northwest region.
