Published from The Roadstone book of House Designs, produced in 1980. Billed as “A guide to building your own home with 25 new house designs by Reg Chandler, Des Doyle, Arthur Gibney, Ray MacDonnell, and Allan O’Regan”. Described as “this house aims at simplicity of form in the landscape. It is square on plan with a pyramidal or double hipped roof which is big enough to accommodate a future bedroom extension in the attic roof space. A staircase can be fitted in the cloaks cupboard in the hallway. The existing accommodation of three double and one single bedroom can be extended to a further double and two single bedrooms by the roof extension. The garage utility building in its square plan echoes the plan of the house and has a similar pyramidal roof. The walls are of Forticrete masonry in a buff colour with contrasting brown roof tiles. The projecting roof joists at the overhanging eaves are painted white. Windows and doors are in contrasting dark brown timber.”
