Architects Benevolent Society needs your help

logo-iaaThe Irish Architects Benevolent Society (IABS) is a registered charity formed in 1959 to provide assistance to architects and their families who suffer hardship and financial distress as a result of crisis, illness of death. Operated on a purely voluntary basis, the society provides approximately 50,000 euro per annum to architects and families who find themselves in trouble. Assistance can take the form of a small monthly income, a one-off payment to get a family through a crisis, or a payment at Christmas.

Income from subscriptions has dropped by 95% and now falls short of annual commitments. The current economic climate has affected the society’s investments, and to maintain current grant payments will mean eating into cash reserves. These reserves are limited. You can help the work of the IABS in several ways:

  • Pay a donation to the IABS with your RIAI subscription
  • Include the IABS as a charity you donate to in lieu of christmas cards or gifts.
  • Organise an event to raise funds.
  • Leave a bequest in your will to the IABS

Tax relief is available for all donations over 350 euro. Please support the IABS in its work by sending a donation to: The Treasurer, Irish Architects Benevolent Society,
