Dublin’s Dutch Billys – the conference

Dublin Civic Trust has announced a major one-day conference on the gabled street architecture and other buildings of seventeenth and early eighteenth century Dublin on October 12th. The distinguished surroundings of the House of Lords chamber at the heart of College Green, once a nucleus of gabled Dublin, provides the appropriate setting for this unique event, which sets out to dispel many of the myths associated with fabled gables of the post-medieval city. This seminal conference, the first of its kind to explore the much misunderstood subject of Dutch Billys, and featuring a host of illustrious expert speakers, will vividly expose the extraordinary diversity, eclecticism, and noble civic spirit of Dublin’s largely forgotten tradition of gabled street architecture.

Price: €50 per seat, strictly by advanced reservation
Conference includes a light lunch and morning and afternoon refreshments
