Constructed for the Lower Medway Navigation Company. “These cottages are been erected at Allington Lock for the accommodation of the employes of the company. The lower storey is of Kentish rag stone, with dressings of artificial stone, left as it comes from the mould; the upper story is of tile-hanging on quartering. Mr. Hubert Bensted of Maidstine is the architect and the work is being carried out by Mr. John Fround, jun., of the same town, at a cost of 474.” Perspective View including ground plan published in The Building News, December 16th 1887.
