Designed as n upmarket apartment block, Executive House was highly thought of at the time of completion and won a Massey Silver Medal for Architecture. The Massey Medals for Architecture program was established in 1950 to promote and recognize excellence in Canadian architecture, and to increase public awareness of architecture as an expression of Canadian cultural life. The Massey competitions were held every three years from 1952 through 1970 in association with the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.

Consisting of two floors of apartments raised on pilotis over carparking spaces, the building is quite elegant with a slim structure filled with recessed balconies and floor-to-ceiling glazing.
