Place launches Architecture Tours in Belfast

logo-place-toursPLACE, the Architecture and Built Environment Centre for Northern Ireland, are beginning their new tour season on Saturday, March 24th with the launch of three new tours.

Belfast: A City Shaped by Conflict. A tour that examines and uncovers the more subtle influences The Troubles have had on Belfast’s built environment.

Titanic: An Emerging Urban Quarter. Queen’s Island has changed drastically from the time of its industrious past and is now part of one of the Europe’s largest waterfront regeneration projects. Tours start next Sunday 1st April.

The Master Architect: Charles Lanyon’s Belfast. This architect and one time Lord Mayor left a long and lasting legacy in Belfast, this tour covers his contributions to Belfast’s architectural heritage. Tours start Sunday 25th March. Other upcoming tours include favourites such as Inspired Architecture: Churches of Belfast City Centre, Made of Money: Victorian Banks of Belfast and Art Deco Belfast.
