1862 – Seskinore House, Fintona, Co. Tyrone

Architect: Boyd & Batt

0007

The house was heavily remodelled and extended for George Perry McClintock. in 1862 to a design by Derry and Belfast-based architects Boyd & Batt. The Ministry of Agriculture bought it along with 400 acres of land in the early 1950s, and hoped that some use might be made of it. Its usefulness as an old people’s home, a hostel and a hospital was considered. At one time it was hoped to divide it up into flats for various workers on the estate, but the cost was prohibitive. Demolished in 1952.
