1888 – Design for Chapel Interior, St Patrick’s College, Maynooth

Unsuccessful entry in competition to design the interior of college chapel – the exterior by J.J. McCarthy and William Hague. From The Irish Builder, July 15 1888: “The design submitted by Mr. W.H. Byrne for the completion of the interior of the Church of St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth, from the subject of our illustration with present issue. Our artist has skilfully reproduced it from the large drawing which hung in the late Exhibition of the Royal Hibernian Academy, Lower Abbey-street. Mr. Byrne was not successful in the competition.”
