Tickets available for 5th series of “New Now Next”

101New Now Next, the popular architecture series curated by the Irish Architecture Foundation and sponsored by Arup, returns for its fifth edition. This year, the organisers are honoured to welcome Winy Maas, the renowned architect and urbanist, and one of the co-founding directors of the global architecture and urban planning firm MVRDV. His address on infrastructure and housing will take place on 13th September at the Printworks in Dublin Castle. This talk is in partnership with the Office of Public Works and will be chaired by Shane O’Toole.

Winy Maas’ last public address in Ireland was ten years ago, also at the invitation of the Irish Architecture Foundation. Based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Maas is known for projects such as the Expo 2000, the vision for greater Paris, Grand Paris Plus Petit, Market Hall and more recently Seoul’s Skygarden. He is available for interviews in the month preceding his lecture.

The New Now Next series was established in order to bring dynamic people to Dublin to inspire audiences who are interested in the innovative research, design and construction of buildings and cities. It is about disseminating new ideas, regarding contemporary issues that are relevant now and that can impact on the next generation.

This year will be no different, with speakers and audiences coming together to learn from international experience and examine the direction of architecture and urban planning. This year’s series will close on 1st November with a lecture by Merritt Bucholz and Karen McEvoy co-founders of Bucholz McEvoy Architects.
