Castle Roche is one of the lesser known but more dramatic Norman Castles in Ireland. Sited on a rocky hilltop, the castle controlled a pass into Armagh.

Baggotrath Castle was built in the late thirteenth century, in the vicinity of what is now Upper Baggot Street. It was largely destroyed on the eve of the Battle of Rathmines during English Civil War (1649) when it was considered a prize possession for military power in Dublin.
The 32-m (round tower in Kildare is the second tallest in Ireland. The tower was most likely rebuilt in the 12th century onto the granite block foundation of the original structure dating from the sixth or seventh century.

St. Kevin’s Church better known as St. Kevin’s Kitchen is a nave-and-chancel church of the 12th century. It has a small Round Tower above the west doorway.
Founded in 1302 by Thomas, Lord of Ossory and plundered in 1317. The church was originally a rectangle with transepts added in the 1320s.
