"In The Round" Hayshed Acoustics Avoidable ?

Looked forward to Pat Kenny’s new chat show Monday as – for once – I expected him to be more empathetic to his subject given he has daughters of Michaela Harte’s age himself.
The interview was all right.
But the damn show came from the Mansion House Round Room and the place’ acoustics gave it an air of an amateur players’ production in a hayshed.
Acoustics being partly an architectural matter, may I ask anyone versed in this area if this effect was inevitable given the venue – or whether suitable panels, etc could have made things a lot better ?
