The sad thing is that Bailey has spent huge amounts over the past decade promoting himself and is now likely to be elected to the next Dáil on a FG upswing. Maybe he’ll be the next planning minister.

nah. can’t see that happening. He already had a shambolic tilt at Leinster House in 2002. Anyway this is more politics.ie than archiseek !!!!

BTH yeh I’m not sure. It doesn’t look good from any angle to have so few rows.

PB the issue of rotating the stadium has been dealt with

bth… i assume they wanted to roof over the entire stadium for aethetic and atmosphere reasons and the extra height required meant a lower seating area than previously

Plus the FAI and IRFU have signed huge contracts with stadium service providers and sponsors for matches in Lansdowne so can’t move the bigger ones to Croker.

Re the Railway line – is that the main Maynooth Line behind Hill 16? There’s a line either side of Croker.

    Sure that’s perfect then.
We’ll just kindly ask all teams playing there not to kick the ball too high above the pitch, so that the punters can get their money’s worth.

Ah now the Architects only signed off on the condition that Jack Charlton would never come back as manager 🙂 (Rugby I hear y’say? Bah say I)

Looking at the pics and video, it seems that the corners of the pitch are visible from all seats but only time will tell

Pity the Brazil game isn’t there. I reckon the midfield partnership of Kaka and Dudu would really suit the new place

(sorry folks but that’s the winner 😉 )

I’ve just often wondered whether the location of their office might not have been a factor in their thinking when they got out the crayons.

And they were fairly unceremoniously moved over to DNS, shortly thereafter. Perhaps this was to avoid any suggestion that they hadn’t been able to take an entirely objective viewpoint.

Well… if it hadn’t been suggested before, it’s been suggested now.:D

Well apart from Luas dating from the 1994 DTI report which predated the existence of the DTO did it not? As for the move to Abbey st, that happened in 2008, about 6 or 7 years after the dig began for Line B.

Perhaps you’re thinking of the Red Line 😉

This was the view I got when I went to a match there, in a season ticket seat as well.

That’s actually incredible…. what the hell is that all about?

I think the article is badly written. Dunno how the bank draft works but i signed up and have had the tenner taken off my CC but not the 150. I’ll let you know if it does. If you don’t have the 150 then I guess you’re in trouble if they come calling…

by the way the bikes were not sold as “free”. They were misreported as “free” as far as I know. Did DCC actually use the term “free” in any of their official press releases. I’d be more than interested if they had.

there is no deposit, just a 10e annual charge. You just need a valid credit card that they can take E150 off if the bike goes missing

One must wonder if you had €150 sitting in your bank account why you just wouldn’t buy a cheap bicycle; which leads me to a question does anyone want an alluminium framed 15 speed Trek racing bike with sti gear change and about 5 miles on the clock. I’ll shift it for cash for €149

You don’t need 150 in your account. You just need a credit card which can be debited by 150 if you keep the bike or lose it
