Dating from 1902, the brick and stone facade hides a large functional cast-iron galleried market hall.
All but the front of 1902 was destroyed in the Rising – the building with the large arch and oriel window above.
St. Paul’s historic Landmark Center, completed in 1902, originally served as the United States Post Office,
Winnipeg’s first steel framed building at seven storeys high. Merchants Bank of Canada was taken over by the Bank of Montreal in the early 1920s.
Lovely little Methodist church with unusual front porch with attractive stonework. The spirelet to the top of the gable adds to the picturesque effect of the building.
The Minneapolis Grain Exchange was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
Originally opened as Brabazon House, Home for Ladies – it was the initial project of the Brabazon House Company established by the Countess of Meath in 1890.
