Designed by the Londonderry Development Commission and later refurbished by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive in the early 1980s.
Built to replace an older church erected in 1834. A central part of the design was to allow natural light throughout the church.
The present St. Nicholas Church was designed in the early nineteen sixties by the architectural firm of Green Blankstein Russell Associates.
