Combined gate-house and school building for St. Patrick’s Church of Ireland in Dalkey. Still standing today although missing the top of the small tower.
A small little obelisk commemorating a local landowner. This simple monument would benefit from some landscaping – perhaps a larger traffic island to allow people to approach it.
Although a convent and school still exists on this site, the buildings illustrated are either gone or unrecognisable. The school was started in 1857 when they took over the house with curved bays seen in the centre of the shot.
Imposing 19th century bank (No. 102 Upper Georges Street) now in use as a commercial premises.
Simple little church with gothic detailing. The main façade has a simple arched doorway with a small rose window. The side onto the small laneway has paired single light arched windows.
Fine Gothic oratory constructed in the grounds of a convent. Recently restored, the building had an ornate interior.
