The present structure at 389 Main Street is the third Bank of Commerce Building to stand on its site.
Originally constructed 1909-10,
Solid stone bank building in a vaguely Scottish Baronial style,
The first public building commissioned by the new provincial government after the formation of the province.
Stripped to its structure in the early 1950s and refaced in 1952.
Designed by architect Frank Darling,
Construction started in 1911 and was completed by 1913 at the corner of King and Yonge Streets.
