Developed by the Southport Hotel Company (funded mainly by Manchester merchants), the Birkdale Palace Hotel was built on a 20 acre site fronting the Birkdale shore.
“We publish an elevation of the above hotel, which is about to be erected upon the sites of Nos.
Now described as a Bed & Breakfast with a bar rather than a hotel, the Royal is sited by the quayside on Valentia Island.
