Known as the Plashet Library, and still in use today. Passmore Edwards contributed £4,000 towards the cost,
The funding of Passmore Edwards led to the construction of firstly the Library, in 1896 and then the adjacent schools in 1899.
Harrison Townsend was a founder member of the Arts Workers Guild, and a enthusiast for the work of Richardson in the United States,

The Herne Bay Convalescent Home was the first of ten homes to be opened by the Railway Industry for railway workers;
Largely completed as illustrated, although some of the more decorative elements such as the plaque on the gable and the cupola were never finished.
