This was the final commission of the Pugin & Ashlin partnership; finished by Ashlin alone,
Uncomplete, as the expected donations to complete the spire did not materialise. The interior has a lovely wooden roof supported by tall arches on marble shaft columns.
Designed by E.W. Pugin & G.C. Ashlin in 1866, opened in 1872, but the church was not finally completed until 1881 when the spire was finished.
