1757 – Bridge, Shannonbridge, Co. Offaly Shannonbridge gets its name from the bridge connecting County Offaly and County Roscommon. Rachra is generally considered the old name for Shannonbridge,
1814 – Barrack Block, Tete-De-Pont, Shannonbridge, Co. Roscommon Tete-de-pont or bridge defences which were constructed during the Napoleonic Wars. The defences were designed to delay a military force approaching from the west from crossing the River Shannon to the eastern side.
1845 – Alterations to Shannonbridge, Co. Offaly Architect: Thomas Rhodes Proposed alterations to the 16-arch masonry Shannonbridge of 1757, which included a new opening section. Rhodes was responsible for other work on the Shannon navigation including the bridge at Athlone.
