When Henriquez planned Eugenia Place in Vancouver’s West End, he also took into account the surrounding ecosystem. His architectural renderings included the ghostly traces of trees that would have existed had it not been a building site. The 35-foot tree on top is reference to historical continuity, a tribute to the tall trees that once occupied the area, while at ground level he added concrete tree stumps.
