Richard Knill Freeman was born in 1838 or 1839 and practised in Bolton, Greater Manchester from 1865, initially in partnership with George Cunliffe and after 1871 alone. He later became Diocesan Surveyor for Manchester. He had a loose partnership from 1886-1897 with S.
