Brackenwood is the name of the estate built behind Brackenwood House (now demolished) Higher Bebington, around 1950. The area is now an attractive open-plan estate with plenty of green areas and mature trees backing onto Brackenwood Municipal Golf Course, the estate is a mixture of Wirral Partnership Homes, housing association and privately owned properties.

The site of the original nine hole golf course was Brackenwood House designed and built in 1885 by his Aston Webb for his brother-in-law, John Evans.
