The preservation of Georgian Dublin and the making of modern Ireland 1958-1971, by Dr. Erika Hanna This lecture will discuss the Irish state’s policy towards Dublin during the 1960s and the efforts of many activist groups, including the Irish Georgian Society, to preserve buildings, communities and public spaces during this period of profound change. Erika Hanna has just completed a D.Phil on Dublin in the 1960s at Hertford College, Oxford under the supervision of Prof. Roy Foster.
