1893 – Design for Brooklyn Insitute of Arts and Sciences, New York

Uncompleted design for the Brooklyn Insitute of Arts and Sciences. The original design of the new museum building was meant to house educational and research activities in addition to the growing collections. The ambitious building plan, had it been fully realized, would have produced the largest single museum structure in the world at that time. The scope of that envisioned complex of parks, gardens, and buildings changed after Brooklyn was absorbed into New York City in 1898.
