Random Building
1935 – Department of Railways, 17 York St., Sydney, Australia
1882 – Former Police Station, The Rocks, Sydney, Australia
Architect: James Barnet
Beautiful sandstone facade on this well maintained heritage building, and considered to be one of State Architect James Barnet’s best small-scale works. It was one of the two major stations in Sydney city from the 1880s until the 1930s. The façade features an interesting Palladian design reminiscent of a gateway with heavily articulated piers, quoins and voussoirs.
