1880 – Plans for Water System, Limerick
A scheme of waterworks submitted to the Town Council of the City of Limerick in September 1880, G.B. Nichols and Son, civil engineers from Birmingham. Designed to take water from Lough Derg, and through a series of filtration tanks before being stored in a reservoir which one contain enough for one days usage for the entire city. A number of proposals were made by various consulting engineers, none of which were taken any further.
