1835 – Mortuary Chapel, Goldenbridge Cemetery, Inchicore, Dublin

Architect: Patrick Byrne

History of the Dublin Catholic cemeteries

Goldenbridge Cemetery is adjacent to the Grand Canal in Kilmainham. Having opened in 1829, it was the first catholic cemetery opened after Emancipation. The small mortuary chapel is constructed over a crypt, and is said to mark the position of a Mass Rock from Penal times. No longer in use for fresh burials as the graveyard is at capacity.
