      What exactly happened in this competition? There was some sort of scandal?

      Initial winning church design (by ?) was rejected by Archbishop Mc Quaid (Dont really know why, but he also had a difficulty years later with the crib in the Church at Dublin Airport so it may have been “artistic differences”) and the church was built to an entirely different design by others.
