Entrant in architectural competition to construct a new O’Connell Bridge, replacing Gandon’s Carlisle Bridge. Published in The Irish Builder, April 1 1870. “In an architectural point of view, Mr. Geoghegan’s plan and model present many highly artistic features in its ornamental façades and ballustrading towards the river, with a roadway the full breadth of lower Sackville-street, combining all the requirements necessary for the increasing traffic of Dublin; and, considering the durable nature of the materials of which it is proposed to be constructed, the estimated cost appears to be moderate, and we hope to see it or some equally effective project realized at no distant day.”
