The design solution takes its inspiration from the competition’s brief and from the site. The large,
Moran Park has strong pedestrian routes across and around its edges. It also acts as a setting for the Royal Marine Hotel and the adjacent Mariners Church.
Referring to the natural environment that has shaped this area, four giant monoliths form the new complex,

In 2004, VHI appointed McCauley Daye O’Connell to prepare a design to create a new high quality contemporary extension to its existing VHI Headquarters which incorporated Scot’s Church and also provides much needed additional office floor space.
These new buildings will be centred around two new plazas and two new shared pedestrian streets.
